| I LOVE to read. I know there are a few avid readers on this forum, so other than Star Wars, what are your favorite books? My list is VERY long, so I'm going to put today's top ten. I'll add more as this thread builds. 10: Hoot by Carl Hiassen. Also Flush by the same author. Both were great!!! I've read them each a million times! 9: The Guardians of Ga'Hoole series by Kathryn Lasky. I LOVE these books. Great series, 15 books long. I read them all in a summer!!! 8: Caddie Woodlawn by Carol Ryrie Brink. Excellent book. I really loved it. I also read Caddie Woodlawn's Family, by the same author. Great!!!!!! 7: Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. Forever on my favorites list, Tom Sawyer was /one of/ my first "Fictional Boy" crushes!!! LOL! 6: Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes. I'm almost done with it and It's SOOOO GOOD!!!!! I love it! 5: Emmy and the Incredible Shrinking Rat by Lynn Jonell. It's a great book, and so is the second one, but they were both very bizarre..... 4:Kingdom Keepers Series by Ridley Pearson. SUCH GOOD BOOKS!!!! Especially for Disney World Fans. Great books!!! 3: Mysterious Benedict Society series by Trenton Lee Stewart. OMGOODNESS THESE BOOKS ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!! I absolutely LOVED these books!!!!!! I highly, HIGHLY reccomend them!!!!! 2: Septimus Heap series by Angie Sage. Very, VERY good books!!!!! 5 in all, I've read all of them, and fell in love after chapter 2 of book 1. So good!!!! Sort of a Harry Potter type thing, only *in my opinion* better. There is magic, and alchemy and other subjects, but it's all in good fun, and excellent series. 1: IronHeart and IronSpear by Victoria Kasten. BEST BOOKS EVER. I read them a year ago and will/would read them again in a heartbeat. SO GOOD, SO WELL WRITTEN. Written by a former homeschooler, self published writer. Fantasy with no magic, as she is a strict Christian. I met the author and she's such a nice person. I'll try to link her website... www.epicscrolls.com I'm not sure if it worked. Google EpicScrolls if it didn't work. I highly recommend these books. So that's my list. Remember, I left off my SW books, otherwise it would've been MUCH LONGER!!!!!!! LOL! If you have any questions about these books, or other books I may have read, just ask! I'd love to hear about your favorites, so go ahead! Right your list!!!! | |

| *The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien Definitely my favorite books ever--love the characters, the story, the locations and cultures... Also really like The Hobbit. *John Paul II High by Christian M. Frank--a series about 7 kids in a start-up Catholic school run by some parents. So exciting and love the characters--very real and relatable. *Percy Jackson and the Olympians/The Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan--two series about Greek Mythology in modern times. Great story humor! *The Story of the Trapp Family Singers by Maria Augusta Trapp--the book that inspired The Sound of Music and tells the story beyond the movie. *Ella Enchanted and Fairest by Gail Carson Levine--two exciting rewritten fairy tales. I've enjoyed a few of her other books too. Probably missing something I'll think of later... I finished To Kill a Mockingbird the other day--loved it! | |

About the Hunger Games, I don't think there is any cursing, and there isn't really anything super-innapropriate, but there is a whole lot of violence. It's a good series, I'm glad it's becoming really popular and replacing Twilight.

| There are such tings as non-star wars books? LOL
Nancy Drew is awesome, The Chronicles of Narnia, I think the books are better than the movies, but that's juts my opinion. And the Bunnicula series, it's a about a cute little bunny and the other household pets think he's a vampire who's conspiring against them.So they try to prove it. It's an awesome series.

| My fav books r the Ranger's Apprentice series by John Flanagan. I cannot get enough of those books. They are awesome!!! I know these are SW books, but has anyone ever read Karen Millers's Clone Wars Gambit books. They are now my favorite books of all time! Lots of Obi-Wan, lots of action, lots of dry humor. Hands down amazing!!! (Sorry to get off topic. ) | |
