Thanks Amar! I'll be putting together my posting scheduale this week. Monday there will be a post on the blog redesign I did for Lilly @ Fangirls in the Force as Monday is the launch date. I'll post a link to that then.

Many of you know that I'm transitioning over my life from kid to adult and in turn forming my career as a graphic designer. Since January, I've been doing a series on my website about the changes going on to the site as it's being redone with a new design, and will be part of my business as a freelance designer. Today's post is my update for the month on what decisions I've made and how things are looking, what's done and what has a long way to go. There are lots of changes going on over there including a new posting schedule that will be regular. Let me know what your thoughts are.

My latest big project has been redesigning my website and changing it over since graphic design is what I'll be doing for a career. I'll be open for business sometime this summer, but it's been a long journey. I've been working on all this stuff since January. Lots is getting completed and things are starting to come together. My latest post goes into more detail about how it's coming along! Let me know what you girls think. Also since this topic seems to be me posting alot, what projects are you girls working on? Any questions that I might be helpful with?

I LOVE graphic design! It's one of my ambitions to do it professionally someday... I've been using Photoshop Elements for years now...

I checked out your blog, you have some nice work! Maybe you've already answered this, but what program do you use? Also, do you have a DeviantART account?

Thank-you, I love graphic design too StarLee! I've been doing it for about 5 years now, 2 1/2 of them very seriously. This summer, I'll be taking my career to the next level by working professionally as a freelancer. I'm very excited about that. I use Adobe's CS6 Design and Web Premium set for all my work. I don't have a DeviantART account. I looked at you website and your pages and you have some very nice digital art. Your art weebly site didn't work though. I have a facebook page, twitter page and a brand new instagram page, along with my website. The website is getting a complete update along with my other pages in June so that will be fun!

Hey Girls! Lots has been going on for me. I just finished a new blog design for the blog In the Shade of my Wide-Brimmed Hat. The launch of those designs will be coming up soon. I'll be starting three projects in August so I'll be working on a few things over the next couple months.

I'm also updating and redoing my posting schedule. So starting in August I'll have new stuff every Monday and Thursday. I'm probably going to be incorporating video tutorials for digital art and graphic design into the posting schedule. If that's something you want to see let me know and also let me know if you have any suggestions for video topics.

Are any of you girls working on anything? I'd love to hear about it!

Hey Girls! What's new? Are any of you still designing? This threads been pretty quiet lately. I decided to start a Youtube channel, link is in the signature. I put my first video up on Tuesday. I plan to do mainly discussion and tutorial videos pertaining to graphic design and art. If you have any suggestions for videos, I'd love to hear them! I also just finished up two small jobs which I'll be talking about in the coming weeks in posts and then starting in the fall I'll be working on a few cool projects.

I got to go talk to a graphic designer the other day!  He actually designed the University of Memphis logo when he was in college.


He gave me some really great advice for practicing my design skills.  

I have a project coming up too.  It's for a ministry called Women of Hope.  They're having a banquet and they want me to design cards to go at the tables with ways guests can be praying for the women in Sierra Leon that they support.

Awesome, yeah I'll be working on videos and posts about design and art so that's something to check out. That's awesome! The logo looks really cool. Very clean and simple! That's cool that you're working on a project. Making cards is really fun, I used to make all the cards for my family every even and holiday for years. I look forward to hearing how the project goes for you!

All the cards I did were in a really old program, and since I moved I'm not sure where the few printed ones went. :( I read about your time at mit Amar! It sounded really busy but really cool. What have you been up to recently?

I'm going to do a sheet of bookmarks for each woman. I think there are around 20 in all. Most of the hard work is done though.
Now I just need to finish the rest of the fronts (just changing the name and photo for each woman), and design the back.

Those look really good Rachel! The idea of bookmarks is really cool, plus they're easy to hand out and are portable. The design looks awesome, love the simplicity and color choices! I'm sure they'll be a hit!

Hey girls!  How's things?  Have you been working on anything lately?  I've been busy designing and working away.  I've been working on a new set of Her Universe ads, fan based since I don't work for them, as well as some fun ad/print type pieces inspired by some of my friends and tons of new posts and videos for the sites.
