Sewing/Costuming?

Yay for costuming! LOL!
Ley and I have been talking costumes A LOT over gmail. She's quite the expert. LOL!

My mom and I sew! We made my Barriss Offee costume from two sheets and fabric paint!! Now we are going to make my Ahsoka Tano costume form scratch!!

Well I'm a cosplayer which I guess can count as a costumer. I'm really bad a sewing, considering I end up hurting my hands with needle, so I end up using "high-quality" iron tape... or whatever it's called.

Haha! I think that does count. The iron-on tape is quite helpful actually, and usually pretty sturdy. I used that once for a project. I didn't have time to sew it. LOL!

I will have to try iron-on tape!!

I just learned how to sew in home ec and I'm really enjoying it. I made about a billion little makeup bags and pencil bags, an apron, pajama pants, and a purse. I'll post pictures later.

Now that I've started sewing, it's gotten my mom interested in sewing again. We're planning several projects this summer. I'm going to make a dog bed for a friend of mine's dog, and I'm going to start on my Ahsoka costume for Halloween.

Leia, can I PM you if I have any questions about sewing? I'm very new to it and my mom has forgotten a lot about it

My mom does all of the sewing for my costumes. I do some of the spray painting on weapons and accessories.

Me and my mom have a plan to make Ahsoka's montrels and lekku!! We are going to take fabric cut two pieces in the shape of the lekku and montrels sew them and stuff them!! We might have to sew a beanie where it can go on my head! I sure hope this works! If anyone wants to try it like that go ahead!!!

That sounds really cool! You might want to put some beads (like the kind they use in beanie babies) in the bottom of the head-tail to make it weighted and keep it down.

Well my aunt made me Queen Amidala's purple episode I dress(well it dosent look quite like it but hey it workes) I am making my own Ahsoka season 3 costume!!!!! After that my friend and I are making her a handmaiden dress for the premier of EpI!!! We are also attempting to make Leia's dress from the end of epIV and Padmè's lake dress!!!

Yeah but me and my friend and my neighbor are all working on them!!!! We actualy just finished making a ball gown!!!! It is REALY pretty!!!

I really want to make a Leia Epi. 1 costume because the store bought ones look so horrible. I'm also making a wizard robe. Any tips?

I also have one. My biggest suggestion is getting the right fabric. It needs to be soft, thick, and have weight to it. Regular 100% cotton will work fine but it won't look accurate.
