National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)

I'm excited! I need to set my word goals.
Also, it says your location on some profiles. If you don't want people knowing exactly where you live you should edit it. I did (It displayed my hometown)

You can't set your word goals on the main NaNoWriMo website. Only on the Young Writer's Program. At least that's what I thought.

Anyway, who here is doing NaNoWriMo? Amaranthine said alot of Lakehouse girls are doing it, so I would like to have our very own National Novel Writing Month thread.

Here, you can link to any great tips you've found on blogs, any tips you've posted on your blog, anything inspirational, or whatever you want that has to do with the craziness of NaNo.

The reason I'm starting this thread now is because I am already planning my novel. It will be October soon and that's when the HECTIC planning begins. Right now it's just kind of like, "OH yea, NaNo, I should start planning." All I've done are character sheets.

Let us start with our NaNoWriMo history. If you haven't done it before, but you plan on doing it this year: fabulous!! Welcome to the club of crazy people!

My name is Qui (obviously) and this will be my third NaNoWriMo. The first year-2009- I got 50,000 words by November 30. My novel was titled Betrayal and it was awful. The second year -2010- I got 52,000. My novel was title Unearthing Wind and was actually pretty good for a first draft written in 30 days.

So yea. Welcome to the NaNoWriMo thread.

Hooray! NaNo! This is my second year doing NaNo. My story will be called Life in the Bubble and it will be sort of like City of Ember except underwater.

Hey! This'll be my first NaNo and I'm incredibly excited! If I stay on the same plan I've got now, my story will be called The Guardian. Lol, but everything could change by the time November comes! Haha, I can't wait!

Eeee SOOOO excited for NaNo!!!!!! This will be my second year as well. I think that my story this year is going to be about the Everglades. You know the old saying.....write what you know? Well, I practically LIVE on the Everglades....so it works. I can't wait to get started, but I sorta lost my muse/excitement for the idea. I need to plan some more to get back into it before November11!

Daily goals! I need to write about a thousand something every day xDDD

If you want to have 50,000 words you need to write about 1667 words a day. But no one does that XD

I'm trying to add all of you as writing buddies!

I was invited(by a good friend ), and I don't really know if I should do it.

A couple of my roommates are doing NaNo this year, as well as a couple of my other online friends. I'm not though; I'm terribly when it comes to thinking up plots (basically, all my ideas are blatantly derivative of something else). I'm create with creating characters, not so much with plots.

And haha, I don't know, I haven't done any planning for it/have zero idea for a plot. And creative writing was never my strong suite either. /is more of an artist than a writer

But if I think of something and get my act together in time, then sure, I'll do it!

Hm. I think I'll do it next year, its a bit late to start now, and I don't have much of a storyline....I definitely will next year.

OH....I thought it said SEPTEMBER.....Are we allowed to begin writing now, or do we have to wait till November? xD Maybe stupid question, but....
