Favorite SW Character?

Okay it's probably pretty obvious that my favorite character is Luke Skywalker. I mean:

1. He is the unquestioned hero of the Rebellion (first day on the job and he saves Princess Leia and blows up the Death Star, all at the age of eighteen)
2. He's genuinely sweet and cares about his friends and family
3. He is inherently optimistic and peaceful at heart
4. He will do anything to keep his loved ones safe
5. He is really really ridiculously good looking (especially in all black)
6. He is a totally badass Jedi
7. He goes through some of the best character development in the saga
8. HE IS JUST AWESOME OK

Hahaha great list!!! I'll have to admit, I didn't like Luke much at first, but after rewatching the Original Trilogy, I've come to realize how awesome he is

He's so incredibly awesome. I've come to realize this within recent months. Now I'm a die-hard Luke's Girl.

Let me list the reasons about why I am in love with Han Solo:

1. His looks. Yes, I am a shallow young lass, but it's Harrison Ford. YOUNG Harrison Ford. *swoon*

2. His arrogance. Jerks usually annoy me to death, but his arrogance is just so... hot you have to love him. Always putting himself first, making decisions without really thinking things through... you just have to love him. He's so arrogant in my opinion because he's trying to hide his real emotions. LOVE. HIM. NOW.

3. His teasing. It relates to the arrogance. When he messes with Leia's head, it produces some of the most cutest moments between them; such as their first kiss. Leia likes it, no doubt, deep inside. It's his way of flirting, and it could make anyone weak in the knees: even a noble, level-headed politician such as Leia.

4. His past. He is just more adorable when you see what had happened to him: a lonely orphan who joined the military and had his heart broken. It just makes him all the tougher with masking his feelings with arrogance, as I had mentioned above.

5. His rebellious attitude. With cockiness comes rebellion. He wasn't raised by anyone, but had a tough life, and he had to follow the authority in the military, which leads me to believe he want to rebel, be his own leader for once. That explains why Leia and him had such a rocky start: Leia was used to being a leader, and he wanted too. GAH, DON'T YOU JUST LOVE HIM?

6. His heart. He really is a good man. Like I have said, he's arrogant to mask who he really is. He doesn't want his real self to be discovered, because if he is, he is weak to that person. To compare it to a cliched romance novel characteristic, think of it like he's trying to protect himself from a broken heart. He already had one before anyways, and when he torments Leia, it's his way of telling her, "I'm in love with you, but I don't want to admit it." He makes it obvious, but in the cutest, "manliest" way possible.

7. His dedication. When you're in the military, you pick up on it, I guess. It looks like he's a chicken and would flake out, but look how long he stuck with the Rebel Alliance, and just with Luke for that matter? Han always teases Luke about how he always saves his life, etc., but in reality he's there for Luke and Leia and the rest. If he wasn't, there would be no way he would've hung around the Alliance for as long as he did. Sure, there were times where he started to leave, but he stayed until the Battle of Endor, and still remained after that. Maybe part of the reason why he stayed was because of Leia, and maybe part of the reason why he threatened to leave so often was to torment her in a different way. His tormenting is just so amazing.

8. His sarcasm. That's what makes his quotes so amazing. It ties into the arrogance. There's not much to be said here besides 'nuff said.

9. His character. I'm meaning what defines him. He's scared of loosing everything he's gotten; he's afraid of loosing Chewie, Leia, Luke, and his ship. All the things he's worked on just vanishing: that's he's number one fear. I can see that with him being lonely his whole life. That's probably another reason why he's so arrogant. Masking his emotions yet again, and trying to convince everyone that he's better off alone because that would help him not experience the consequence of that fear. He doesn't want to see Luke get struck down by another lightsaber. He doesn't want to see Leia get shot in a battle. He doesn't want to see his ship crash with his most loyal friend in it. He'll accept loosing his own life, but he doesn't want to see anybody else loose theirs.

10. His character. This time I mean his character in general. Lucas was a genius for throwing a guy like him into Star Wars. We all need a stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking, nerf-herder in our life, don't we?

Awesome list DT!!! I've always been more of a Han girl. I <3 nerf herders.

But I've got to say, Han and Luke are both completely awesome in their own ways, and Star Wars just wouldn't be Star Wars without either of them.
