| Has anybody watched or Read it? I'm interested it reading it (our library has like 5 versions of it ) and if I like it well enough, watching the musical. I'd like to know some opinions first, however. | |

| The movie is PG 13. I didn't think it was that bad. Younger ages wouldn't really be interested in it though. | |

| You should probably skip the book and head straight for the movie XD. They're nothing alike and the movie/musical is much more acclaimed. The book was published and no one had ever heard of Phantom of the Opera. It was the movie/musical that made it famous. | |

| Well, My Mom and Dad preview ALL of movies first (only exception was the Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes since my BF swore by them, they figured they'd be fine) and I don't want to suggest a movie I/they might not approve of. I want to make sure I love, or at least like it, and it meets our standards before I ask them to watch that. I'm pretty much already in love with the 'phantom' however. What girl can resist a dashing guy who pretends to be a ghost and wears such a cute half mask? | |

| Awesome topic! The musical it really great, made me cry at the end. The movie is different too from the book. There are also a lot of movies based on the book. I've watched about all of them except two because they're horror movies. I've also read the book. It's very well written, a bit confusing at times but the movies help with that. Some people, after the original book was published, made prologes to the book or other versions of it. (I'm a bit of a PHan as you can see ) | |

| He's not dashing...XD In fact, a large part of the plot is that he's hideously ugly. Happy reading | |

| I read. It all. In less then 12 hours. I LOVE ERIK!!!!! Yes, the bad, hideous Erik. I almost like him better then Raoul. I Felt so sorry for him, all he wanted was for someone to love him as he was and not run away in fright. Raoul was...ok. I liked him even though I didn't know why....I mean, who wouldn't like the poor little love lorn puppy? But Erik, Oh Erik... You can take me to your under ground home, I'll adore your Don Juan. I'll love you! I need to watch the movie now. Need. Need. Need. Maybe when my bestie and I have the girl's movie night...I've got a feeling my brothers wouldn't like the movie much. | |

| I've talked it over with Jo (BF) and we have decided, WE WILL WATCH it!!! I'm so happy!! “Poor, unhappy Erik! Shall we pity him? Shall we curse him? He asked only to be 'some one,' like everybody else. But he was too ugly! And he had to hide his genius or use it to play tricks with, when, with an ordinary face, he would have been one of the most distinguished of mankind! He had a heart that could have held the entire empire of the world; and, in the end, he had to content himself with a cellar. Ah, yes, we must need pity the Opera ghost...” | |

| Today I watched the sequel, Love Never Dies. You can watch it for free on youtube.
The plot was fine(contrived a bit) but I really loved the MUSIC. There's this really awesome rock song called "The Beauty Underneath" that's really dark and cool. Some other songs I liked are "Love Never Dies", "Till I Hear You Sing", and "Devil Take the Hindmost". | |
