Oh my...
The first three episodes of Book 3 make up for the misstep of Book 2. Yes, Book 2 did have good elements and episodes, but this makes me feel like I'm watching ATLA. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Without giving too much away, I think that all the characters are progressing, they're more likable, and they all seem to fit. The animation is still gorgeous, especially for TV (even though watching ATLA and LOK almost make me come to expect great animation from TV). The pacing and buildup are so much better than the first two Books (although Book 1 was okay). Overall, I want to keep watching the show to see what happens next and hopefully they don't let us down.

I finally saw the new episodes today, and I'm very happy with how things are going!
Things got a little slow for me in season 2, but I feel like season 3 has really picked up the pace and has gotten off to a nice start!
I agree Shaak Ti, I love the Korra/Asami friendship! It's awesome, and I'm so glad to be rid of the love triangle stuff!
I also agree with Allishmalli that the show looks absolutely stunning. I was telling my brother that honestly, even when the plot got a little slow back in season 2, it was still entertaining to just watch the animation. The bending is fascinating, and the environments are just beautiful.

Season 2 was definitely an awkward mess. On one had, a lot happened; but on the other hand, nothing much happened. On one hand, it was really slow in it's pacing; but on the other hand, it was really rushed and cramped. On one hand, it had good elements (no pun intended) and interesting things/concepts/ideas to explore (most of them either never got explored or are being explored now in Season 3); but on the other hand, it had bad elements (again, no pun intended) and was a bit shallow and shoe-horned. I hate the fact that Korra, as a character, regressed back to pre-Amon attitude and the Makorra relationship went on for so long (and then after all Mako put Asami through, she still liked him). And I hate that the Wan episodes were far more interesting and entertaining than most of the entire season.
I can see why Season 2 was a big mess (Nick only gave creators one half-season/really-short-"book" and when the show was popular, Nick told them to make another half-season/really-short-"book" when the creators hadn't really planned to do so), but I wish that it hadn't been such a big mess. If I could go back in time, I would tell Nick to give the creators three or four full seasons so that these problems wouldn't have existed.

I've seen the first three episodes as well and they are quite good! I agree, I am glad neither Korra or Asami are in a relationship with Mako anymore- he is a really two-faced guy and they are both better off staying away from any more romance with him.
The plot seems cool and I'm excited to see more of Lin.

Man, I hate to hear that! :( If these ratings continue, this will probably be the last season.
Personally, I think it's Nick's fault. They should have marketed it better. Season 1 had trailers out months before the episodes aired, giving plenty of time for buildup, but this season barely had any time for that. Though from what I understand, some episodes from the middle of the season got leaked, so Nick and the creators of the show wanted to start airing it as quickly as possible so nothing could be spoiled from the leaked episodes.
I hope the ratings pick up! It would be a shame for yet another outstanding show to be cancelled.

Did y'all see episodes 6 and 7 last night? I thought they were really good!
Spoiler:
I loved both of the episodes. I liked that Korra (and hopefully Bolin soon) is learning to metal-bend, but I doubt that (with Toph as Aangs earth-bending teacher) Aang never learned to metal-bend at some point. What kinda makes me sad though is that Aang and Toph were not-so-great parents, since we learned in season 2 that Aang kinda shut out Kaya and Bumi to be with Tenzin and now we learned that Toph gave Lin and Suyin a bit too much freedom.... I guess that showing that they weren't such great parents make them a bit more human with flaws just like everyone else. The fight was awesome! And I found out that Jessie Flower (the voice of Toph in ATLA) was the voice of young Suyin in the flashbacks!!! How cool is that!!!
The air episode was good too, but marginally less as good as the Lin/Suyin episode. I can't wait for Jinora to get air-bending tattoos. However there is one thing that bothers me... except for all of her spirit powers, we've never really seen Jinora do all the air-bending stuff that she has supposedly mastered. Anyways, just for the sake of feeling like the air nomads are officially back, I hope the men air-benders do shave their heads, even Bumi and Kai.I have nothing against hair (I actually liked Aangs hair in season 3 of ATLA), but I feel like they all should so the air nomad culture can come back even more. Btw, I never knew that head-shaving was optional... especially since the air nomads are based off monks who (if I'm not mistaken) were required to shave their heads.
On a side note, I hope Korra will have Mako teach her lightning-bending, Jinora teach her the spiritual stuff, someone to teach her combustion (I read that it isn't genetic but a spiritual thing where you just have to concentrate, and that the third eye is just a tattoo), and that she'll master energy bending to the extent of being able to give non-benders bending. That way, she could give all the air-acolytes air-bending so that there will be more air-benders who already know all of the air nomad culture so that the air nomad civilization can expand. Also, she can take away the bending from the Baddie Bender Bunch (Team Zaheer) so they are powerless Plus, learning all of the sub-techniques will help her become the most powerful/knowledgable Avatar ever!
Overall, I'm still way happier with this season than the last one and I'm sad that there are only 13 episodes this season...

I thought they were good too! I'm pretty happy with this season!
Spoiler:
I loved seeing some background on Lin and Suyin! I think it's very interesting that Toph gave them lots of freedom, but it makes sense when you think about Toph's upbringing. I agree that it's awesome that Jessie Flower was able to come back for some voice work!
I agree about Jinora. They keep saying she's a powerful airbender, but we don't get to see her air bend much. I do really want her to get her tattoos, though! I agree about the air benders shaving their heads. Though I got the feeling Tenzin was just telling them it was optional so that they could have a while to get used to the idea, and maybe eventually they all will.
I think it's so cool that Korra is learning to metal bend, and I agree that it would be cool if she learned some more powers!
I'm really enjoying all of the new characters. It was interesting to meet Suyin and her family, and the new air benders seem cool too. I also was glad to see the return of Varrick! He was one of my favorites last season XD

I'm so disappointed to hear about this!!! :( Legend of Korra is so good, and it's very sad that such an amazing show hasn't been as successful as it should be.
I had a feeling they would end the show after season 3, but I'm surprised that they're dropping the episodes from tv midseason. I'm thankful that we at least get to see the rest of the episodes online, and I hope that something will work out with Netflix or another site and maybe we will get a season 4. Though I'm not sure I would want a season 4 unless season 3 ends on a cliffhanger, because a season 4 would probably not have as good quality if it has to air online.
I definitely think the problem was online pirating and the episodes that got leaked. I know that Nick was in a hurry to air the season after some episodes from the middle of the season got leaked, and I don't really blame them, though I do think they could have advertised it better.
I'm also not really sure what to think about the Spider-Man news. I'm kind of confused as to why they would wait so long to do another Spider-Man movie and how it's going to work to focus on just the Sinister Six.

So, what do y'all think of the episodes they've put online?
Personally, I kinda got used to watching two episodes in a row, so I feel "That's it?" whenever I watch a single episode. Plus, it really stinks that this show got screwed over by Nick. It really ticks me off.
However, I actually kinda like watching it online. The episodes get put online around mid-day, so I don't have to wait until that night to either try and catch it or record it and watch it later. Plus, being so close to the screen means I see a lot more background details, which is cool.
As for the actual episodes themselves, I think they are still really good, especially the episode that just came out today.

Yeah, it is kind of weird only watching one- especially since they tend to end on a bit of a cliffhanger each time!
I've really enjoyed it online tbh. We've been watching it on Amazon, and the episodes flow so much better without so many commercials. It's not exactly fair that they canceled it how they did, but business is business, and it's not like they totally canceled it *glares at Disney*
The latest episode was great! It's so cool seeing Asami and Korra working together now that their friends and all

Okay, I know it's midnight, but I can't wait any longer. I have to talk about the Season Finale! First, the non-spoiler stuff. As you can tell, I absolutely loved this seasonĀ finale! The animation and artwork were top-notch (even the CGI was great); the action-scenes were epic; the emotional scenes were moving; and the story was well-told (even though not too much actually happened). Okay, now for spoilers.
Spoiler:
Okay, where do I begin? Well, I guess I'll start with what I liked at the beginning of the finale and I'll work my way through. Okay, I like how, even at the beginning of the finale, Korra had changed so much since Book 1 and Book 2 that she was willing to give up herself to save the Air Nation. I figured it was a trap (and it was), but I didn't expect that the "air-bender hostages" were Ming-Hua's water-arms. That was creepy when they showed that the "air-bender hostages" were Ming-Hua's water-arms. Also, I liked the Korra/Mako hug. It seemed to come from a genuine place and it wasn't romantic, which is refreshing and "aww" worthy. I'm pretty sure that people expected Bolin to discover lava-bending abilities (as opposed to metal bending abilities), but honestly, I didn't see it coming, at least not until he turned back to face the lava coming right at them (which, honestly, would have been stupid and foolish of him had he not discovered his lava-bending). Btw, it was a bit heartbreaking when the whole Air Temple was destroyed by the lava. And also, that baby bison is gonna have back problems later from carrying five people on its back. Plus, why did Kai name it "Lefty"? Unless there's a reason, that sounds kinda stupid. But, I'm getting off track here. Like I said before, the action in this was epic. All of it. There was never a dull moment. Though gruesome when you think about it, the way Lin and Suyin took out P'Li ("Sparky-sparky-boom-girl/Combustion Woman") was clever and... slightly awesome. I kinda liked how her death related to ATLA, since when P'Li died, Zaheer had no more attachments to this earth and was able to fly while Aang struggled with his attachment to Katara and when he "let go", he was able to control the Avatar State. Although I assume that he never really did "let go" since they married and had 3 kids together and he was never able to fly. The parallels to ATLA are definitely noticeable, but they're kind of clever. For instance, in the last episode, I was reminded of both the crystal cave battle from Book 2 of ATLA AND the final battle with Ozai and Aang in Book 3. The suspense was killing me during the last episode... I think the Baddie Bender Bunch's plan (yes, I know they're called the "Red Lotus", but I like my name for them better) was clever and smart (not brilliant since they obviously failed). I loved how Jinora helped save the day (again) with the wind tornado. While it included the whole Air Nation, this did actually show her ability to be a master/leader of air-bending... but only a little bit. Also, even though I liked how the fight ended, I do wish that for the next big villain, Korra could fight and win on her own without assistance. I'm glad Jinora got her air-bending tattoos. And, like everyone else, I noticed that she looks almost exactly like Aang with her head shaved completely and with the tattoos. I'm pretty sure they did that on purpose. Plus, the whole scene was beautiful. Okay, now for the sad stuff. The effects of the poison on Korra obviously damaged her physically (even after Suyin got it out of her system so it wouldn't kill her). But, it also damaged her emotionally, which was heartbreaking. Seeing Korra in the wheelchair with darkness under her eyes and a heart-broken and almost dead look in her eyes was tough to watch. And when she cried at Jinora's Master Ceremony thing... it was (again) heartbreaking. I'm just guessing that they're going to go darker and deeper into Korra's character next season, which is something that I'm looking forward to, if it's not too depressing.
Overall, this season has been great through and through. My only wish (which is a big, but kinda pointless wish at this point) is that LOK could have had full 20-24 episode seasons, instead of 12-14 episode season. I love what we got right now, but I truly believe that having longer seasons would have made it even better. Curse you, Nickelodeon! Curse you!

I'm really excited to see how the show develops next season, and am especially curious of how soon after the end of Book 3 it takes place-
Spoiler:
Like Alli said, I really hope that they go into Korra's recovery. She's such the "hero" type, and to see her feeling so useless is aweful, but at the same time realistic after all she's been through. I'm also hoping to see more of Korra and Asami's frienship

I'm going to predict that the time between the end of Book 3 and the beginning of Book 4 will be long, but no more than 6 months. I predict this because having a long time between books could... um... I'm about to go into spoiler territory here...
Spoiler:
I predict this because having a long time between books could show that even after such a long period of time, Korra has still not fully recovered yet, which would frustrate and devastate her since she still can't help bring balance to the world like she's supposed to as the Avatar. The reason I say no more than 6 months is because I feel like anything over 6 months (especially an entire year) would feel too long. I guess it would be even more frustrating for Korra, but something inside just says that anything above 6 months is way too long.

I AM SO EXCITED!!!!
What are some things your hoping for this season? I'm praying that it is as good/ better than season 3, because then it would really be "as good as ATLA" (as much as i hate to compare the two shows, they are different after all, it's obvious that until LOK season 3, ATLA was totally superior in almost every way). I also want to see Korra and Asami's friendship develop more, and some Jinora action! I really love how well her character has been done, and how strong the writing for her specifically has been through all the seasons Also, we need some bonding within the Krew... everything seems a bit awkward after the whole love-triangle thing.

I heard that every character from TLA that is still alive (or at least not confirmed dead) will make an appearance in Book 4. Maybe Toph and/or Azula will make an appearance! I also heard that everything in the show will be wrapped up in the end of the Book. That's good so that we'll feel satisfied and not have to deal with storylines and other things being left open in the end of LOK, unlike some TV shows I know (Ahem! Looking at you, TCW).
Spoiler:
I just want the show to be as good/better than Book 3. I don't know if I even care who or what they focus on (except for Korra's character and the relationships within the group, those need attention). I'd like to see more Master Jinora showing off Master air-bending skills (since we didn't see much of that beforehand); I'd like to see cute Kainora moments, but not so many that it takes the focus away from the good stuff; I'd like to see Korra become strong again (perhaps stronger than ever before) and to regain her connection to the past Avatars; I'd like to see more lava-bending from Bolin; I'd like to see some major action and stellar animation (even though I've come to expect the animation part); I hope the new villain will be a great villain and not just a throwaway villain, a stupid villain, or a contrived villain; As I said in my review of Book 3, "I do wish that for the next big villain, Korra could fight and win on her own without assistance".
Again, honestly, I just want it to be great. I want this Book to beĀ as good/better than Book 3. I can't wait!
