PRIVACY POLICY

Due to recent events, we have been forced to create a privacy policy to protect our members. We've had a loose policy in the past, but we feel we should create a solid policy that WILL BE enforced by the moderators. (And if we must, we'll create new moderators to help enforce these new rules.)

DO NOT share your LAST NAME.

We HIGHLY RECOMMEND not to share your EXACT AGE.

DO NOT share your EXACT LOCATION. (States are fine to share, though we highly discourage doing so.)

DO NOT make plans to meet ANYONE anywhere other then through pms, but is highly discouraged to do so. You have no way of knowing if the person behind the username is real.

It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that if you're under the age of 18 that you let your parents know you're a member of this forum, and allow them to set up personal rules according to their concerns.

We can not control what is said through pms, but we stress that you use extreme caution.

DO NOT share photos of yourself to ANYONE. (8/20/11: The photo topic in the CVI thread is going to be deleted within a few days. If you wish to personally delete your own photo, you may do so before we delete the topic ourselves.)

I hate to sound all serious like this and scare everyone, but things have been a little too loose the past few weeks. Things have been brought to my attention that must be fixed for everyone's safety. I realize we have young girls here, and it's my duty to make sure everyone is protected. If you have any complaints, then share them with me here.

Great rules; this is a good policy. I have, however, one question. Why is it that the Secret Picture topic is going to be deleted. I was under the impression its creation was for the photos to be private. Has this changed?

It is private, but anyone could create an account and still see it.

Sounds good to me. Since we've seen each other's pictures, I think we should all be OK with the secret picture topic being deleted.

If your email address/email name shows your last name, it would be best to change it before emailing us with newsletter stuff or other members. We can't enforce what goes on with email, but this is very handy when you're emailing someone you're not close to.

For Gmail:

Go to:
"Mail Settings" then click on "Accounts" and click on "Edit Info". There you can change who you're sending mail as. (ie. If you are Padme and your emails send as Padme Amidala, you can change it to send as just Padme( or Panda Bear or whatever else you like)

I don't know how to do it for other senders but this function should exist.

Gah I was in trouble. My mom took out the internet before I was able to sign out of chat. Then I tried on my phone, but it didn't work. :( Sorry.

Yeah I agree this was a smart move!! I took my avatar that had the picture of me and changed it. Truthfully, I like this one a lot better!!

I've decided to stop posting pictures of myself on the internet altogether, because the other day I found a picture of myself on google images, and that kind of freaked me out.

Oh my goodness, what did you even put in to find that?!

I typed in "Obi-Wan and Satine" or something like that, I don't remember exactly what. It was on like the 10th page or so, but it still freaked me out. That's why I went through and deleted all the pictures of myself on my blog.

You can actually make your blog super safe so that it can't show up on Google. That's how my pictures haven't shown up. I've searched Fallon Skywalker, Jedi~Chick and Fallon Sunstar and nothing has come up.

Yes, please tell! I need to look into this too. I try to keep my blog "off the radar" as one might say. I love making new friends through blogger, but I want to keep it small, probably why I have so few followers.

Okay.

Go to Blogger, and then to 'Settings'.

The fifth title from the top will say 'Allow Search Engines to Find Your Blog'. Click it to NO.

Right above that it asks if you want Blogger to post your blog on their main site. Click to NO as well. (unless you don't care, but it still puts your blog more out there than the others.)

Aww, but half of my traffic comes from search stations >.> and Blogger.

That was for the girls who DON'T want the traffic from Blogger or Google/Search Engines.

I have mine set to no search engines but yes Blogger. I just got my 60th Follower today!!!!!!!! :DDDDDD
