I know nothing...

I know nothing about the expanded universe. I keep my Star Wars obsession contained in the Clone Wars and Episodes 1-6. Can someone give me a brief summary of what happens in the Expanded Universe? I've heard of Mara Jade and know that she's Luke's wife but that's about it. I'd love to know more about Mara Jade and other characters after Episode 6.

Also, what books are recommened to learn about the expanded universe?

Mara is my favorite SW character. She's Luke's wife, she was an Emperor's Hand (like a sith but cooler) and then she became a smuggler (like Han Solo but a girl) and then she eventually became a Jedi Knight (under Luke's training). Then she married him. And she mothered Ben Skywalker, who is awesome in his own right too. Also, she's a red-head, so I like her. xD LOL! I'm just kidding. You'd need to learn more about her from Wookieepedia. A lot of the things that happen to her make me cry though. Mainly her death. xD In my world, she doesn't die ever. Or get sick or anything. It's all complicated. XD

LOL I know nothing either except for Mara Jade and a bunch of people die and Han, Luke, and Leia have a ton of kids and grandkids who ran around with Aurra Sing in a book once. I also know that I am still hunting down the author who killed Chewbacca and when I find them . . .

Lol. I've made up my mind, never to read the book where Chewy dies. It would be unbearable...I'd cry like a baby.

I read the part of the book where Mara dies, and I cried my eyes out in the middle of the library. All these people were looking at me like I was insane....blubbering like a baby in the library. XD It was SO SAD though!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't help but cry!!!!!!

Oh, and yes, I actually LOOKED for the book, and LOOKED for the part where Mara dies. And read it. Willingly. It's official. I'm an IDIOT.

I understand how you guys feel. I once swore that I would NEVER pick up an EU book. NEVER! It would ruin Star Wars! But I think it makes you like Star Wars more instead. Give it a try! I've read almost all of them XD

I've done the same thing, Jedi~Chick. And I've started bawling right in the library too...while I was reading Revenge of the Sith, I think. You have to be a SW fan to do that. LOl!

LOL!! That's so funny!!! I don't full out cry during ROTS but I get teary.

LOL! I cry during the movie, and I cried even more during the book. It was VERY depressing. XD
I also cry a LOT during fanfiction. Oh gosh.......those things can tear out your heart!!!!!!! xDD

I'll have to read the ROTS book. I don't read a lot of FanFics. I just can't get into them like I can with the movies.

LOL! It's funny that you mentioned the brother scene. I just posted that quote on my blog. It makes me SO sad! "You were my brother Anakin....I loved you."
