| Has anyone here taken the ACT test? Are you going to take it this year? I'm taking it in April. I'm not really old enough to take it, but my mom thought it would be a good experience. | |

| I heard you only have to take ACT if you're not going to take the SAT. I'm so going to take the SAT. I have a SAT book that I study. The questions should be easy, like, the math ones are only at an 8th grade level or so. The problem is that most of us high schoolers have forgotten them. XD | |

| I'll be taking the SAT as well. I've actually enjoyed doing the official SAT questions for each day; it's a nice start to the day if I'm right. If I can remember how to do all those math problems! | |

| My mom's trying to get me to take either the ACT or the SAT (not sure which) just to see what I'd make. I don't think I'm going to yet.

| I took the SAT when I applied to college, but I can offer a few tips to some of you looking to take the ACT (or the SAT).
When you're applying to colleges, be sure to check which test scores they accept. Nowadays, most will accept either the ACT or the SAT (or both!) but there might be some schools that will only accept one or the other.
I think that the essay section on the ACT is optional but I would definitely recommend taking the essay portion when you take the ACT. Most colleges will require it, and those that don't strongly recommend it.
And it's good to get started taking these tests early, because you have plenty of time to retake the test if you want or need to get a higher score.

| I'm taking the ACT (or SAT... I forget which) this year. Kind of nervous about it. Is it really that hard? Is there tons of algebra questions asked? Does anyone know? I need to ask my brother about it.....

-Leia <3 I took the ACT. Only the English and Math parts though, because I got sick and had to leave. I really liked the English part, it wasn't very hard at all. I don't remember the Math part very well. I was really sick when I took that part of it. There was lots of geometry though. I don't think it would have been very bad if I hadn't been sick though.

| Oh, I don't know if Canadians have it, that's probably why you haven't heard of it. The ACT/SAT/PSAT is a college entrance exam that we take. | |

Yeah, the only time I've heard of them is from different tv shows and stuff but I really have no clue as to what the letters stand for.

| I have taken both and plan to take the ACT again sometime this next year. Advice that I can give for the SAT especially is that it's not so much how much you know, it's really knowing how to take the test. Gettting an SAT prep book really helps; take a lot of the practice tests! lol It helps you to know what to expect. Also, The SAT is HUGE on your vocab. A large portion of the reading comprehension is choosing the correct word, so knowing what those words mean obviously helps. (And by the way, they pull out the random words that make you be like "Whaaaa?" lol) Use process of elemination. I know this is probably a stupid statement, as most of you I'm sure do it, but when I'm taking the test, I sometimes convince myself I have no idea what the answer is and just pick a random letter -yeah I definately pull the whole "Well I haven't used B in a while... B it is!! lol. (This usually happens about halfway through the section when I'm so fed up with the subject and the test in general and I just want to scream!) | |

| I am going to take the ACT in April. I'm only a freshman, but my mom wants me to know what it's like. I think she just wants to make sure that I am where I need to be in my schooling (I'm homeschooled). I think I am where I need to be with school I mean, I'm taking Geometry, Writing, Latin, US History, US Government, Physical Science (I'm actually behind in this. I got this science program in my first year of homeschooling which was 2009. Yea....), music, and gym (those last two are more extracurricular). So, I think I'll do fine. I hope....... | |

| I'm planning on taking the ACT test. But I have NO clue what it's going to be like or what I've got to study to pass it . I've got a book Words You Should Know in High School. I bought that book with my own money. *collective gasp* Yes I bought a book to READ IT! XDDD LOL! I'm READING!!! XD Anyway, it's cool, full of lot's of big words that I doubt I'll ever use, but they might be helpful in tests and stuff. | |
