| Thanks! If you can develop the film yourself, you'll appreciate the process more and understand how everything works. I have a developing tank and reels, just need to get more chemicals so I can start shooting film all the time and develop it at home. I also learned how to scan in my own negatives using a lamp and my DSLR. Super sweetness! I think my next project is going to be lomography. I want to get a nice lomo camera and work on cross-processing film. | |

| The Minolta is bigger and has more precise exposure combinations. The brand is also well-known and made well, so it's more expensive. The Chinon is a cheaper brand but I picked this one up because it was more compact and lightweight. I'll probably take the flash off and shoot up a few rolls with it at SWW because it's easier to carry around along with my DSLR.
My collection also consists of 3 different Kodak brownies, Vivitar v2000, Ricoh KR-10x, Panasonic Lumix (digital point and shoot), and other various Nikon cameras. I use my Nikon D5100 the most for digital and Ricoh primarily for all my 35mm stuff, but I hope to start using the Chinon in place of the Ricoh now.

| I've been begging my mom for years to buy me a nice camera but money is really tight so that hasn't happened. Though I almost got a DSLR one. Maybe next year. I have a piggy bank I'm using to save money for a nice camera:) But I do what I can with my kodak c183 digital camera.
I love your pictures Savanna! They blow me away...its crazy!

I love your pictures Savanna! They blow me away...its crazy! You don't need a DLSR to take nice pictures, and--*googles*--the camera you have reminds me a lot of the point and shoot I used till I got my current camera, which is a bridge camera. I used an iPhone and/or a point and shoot to take pictures from Earth Day last year to Christmas. I'm super thankful for my camera and know what matters most in a good picture is the photographer's eye, but it's really frustrating that its lowest aperture is just 3.1--bokeh is a huge part of my style and I'd love to be able to get it more easily + learn free lensing. :/ I have my eye on a Canon 60D body and a 50mm 1.8 lens, but unlike you no money saved. XD How close are you to your goal? And I agree! Savanna's pictures are amazing.

| Savanna, I absolutely love your photography! You are extremely talented and hard working. You've inspired me to work harder in pursuing my interest in photography And I agree with Pink, one doesn't need a DSLR to take good pictures, though I think that it's great that you're saving up and setting a goal, Geek4god I got my D5100 last summer. I got a job and saved up all summer. Saving definitely pays off, and it makes you appreciate the camera even more | |

| Thanks for the kind words girls. Very true about not needing a DSLR! Some of my best pictures were taken with the Nikon Coolpix L110, a point and shoot camera. It's all about technique and understanding how that camera works! | |

| Yeah. I've just gotten into photography a few years ago so I dont know much about taking pictures. (That reminds me, I should get some photography books...)
I read your blog post, Savanna, about the photoshoot you did in front of your window and I had no idea cameras could do that!!! It was so cool! So that got me thinking about changing settings on my camera and all that. So I've been trying to mess around with it to see what it can do.
I'm nowhere near my goal but I'll get there. Currently all my money is going towards my upcoming missions trip. So the camera is down on the priority list. But I really am thankful for the one I have! Its actually pretty nice:)

| I'm still shooting with my sister's Nikon Coolpix L120. It's a pretty good bridge camera, but it frustrates me that I can't control the aperture and shutter speed. I can't get a low enough aperture to take good landscape/building shots, I can never get them in focus. I don't think I really have the eye for it either, but I still keep trying.
That being said, the L120 has a good zoom (21x) and works really well for shooting animals at the zoo, which is my passion in photography. The thing is, I want to shoot at a high aperture to focus on the subject and have the rest way out of focus(really helpful for zoo photography and I just plain love how it looks), but the L120 only goes to about 5.1 and that just doesn't do it for me. That's why I want to save up for a DSLR eventually.

| I agree! That picture of Dakota is really nice too, I love the eyes. These are some of my recent pictures: (No idea how I took this. My camera was throwing one of its fits in the lackluster lighting of my bedroom and only exposed for the lightbulb. XD) (Bokeh) (My eyes.) (Took this on my phone with VSCO Cam, but still one of my most favorite photos ever.) | |
