| Ughh, it's been SO hard to stay off social media and stay away from rotten tomatoes! I'm so tempted just to go look at the score, but I don't even want to know what critics think of it! I just can't go in with any expectations beforehand, I want to be totally surprised. But man I am so tempted!
Ok, just a few more days! We can do this!

| I will just say that maybe it's just my optimism or something, but I truly cannot comprehend this movie being a bad movie. Maybe it might not be as good as the other movies (which for me will take awhile to figure out for myself if it's true), but at this point, I cannot comprehend this being a bad movie. Is that just naive of me to say or is everyone else thinking it too? | |

| No, I'm thinking that way too. I mean, I haven't been truly disappointed by a Star Wars movie yet. Even some of the ones that don't hold up as well like Attack of the Clones or Clone Wars are not really bad films. I don't think there is such thing as a bad Star Wars movie.
I am still worried about how critics will react, though. I think they'll like it well enough but I'm afraid that there's going to be some huge backlash due to it being a very high-grossing movie (possibly the highest grossing movie of all time).
But I guess we'll have to wait and see. Often the general consensus of Star Wars movies has changed over the years. Like when Phantom Menace came out people generally liked it, but after a few prominent news websites started trashing it everyone jumped on the bandwagon. Similarly, Empire Strikes Back wasn't really regarded as the best in the saga until years later. So it will be interesting to see how the new film ages.

| Saw it last night. I won't post a full review until Saturday, and I won't mention any spoilers until then either. Right now I'll just say if I liked it or not, but I'll put that in a spoiler box in case people don't want to hear. - Spoiler:
I liked it a lot.

| I'm just going to say 100% of my thoughts in a spoiler box Opinions - Spoiler:
I saw it twice, regular for the midnight showing (first in line!!) and then in 3D yesterday. 3D was amazing! I noticed so many little things the second time. I also cried a lot. So much. Like the tears started with the opening crawl because i am in a theater watching a new star wars movie on the big screen with my friends. I loved it a lot- especially the nods to the EU and how some scenes were directly mirrored from ANH. I really want to go see it again... I'm re watching the OT and the PT, so i may go after finishing all of that haha
General fangirling and real actual spoilers - Spoiler:
aksfghkla;l HAN. NO. Kylo Ren made a really cool villain, and it was obvious that he was very out of control and immature compared to Vader. What i noticed the second time was that lukes lightsaver was a solid bar of plasma, but Ren's was more electric and out of control. I loved how they showed Leia's force abilities/her connection with han when he died. I cried. Having the original cast was such an amazing thing and i'm really glad they were all brought in. I'm very happy with how it turned out and it's probably all I'm going to be able to talk about for the next week haha

| Hey Amar! Great to see you! And ikr! It feel like we've been waiting ages, it's still hard to believe this actually happened! Here are my reviews: No Spoilers: - Spoiler:
I really liked it! It was very funny and well-acted, and I LOVED all of the new characters. I had only two problems, which I'll put in my review with spoilers. But overall it was a great film and it is just so great to go watch a Star Wars film in theaters surrounded by fans! My favorite part the first time was the opening crawl when everyone clapped.
With Spoilers: - Spoiler:
Han!!! I cried. Also just felt really sad for he and Leia and Luke and what they must have gone through losing Ben/Kylo. Ok so my only problems with it were that the plot was a little too similar to ANH, but that really didn't bother me too much because I know they're doing it to try to bring the fans back into it and get them used to having new Star Wars after 10 years. I trust that the next films will mix things up a bit. My other problem was that I just really didn't like the design for Snoke. The other designs looked amazing and I loved the practical effects and the CG that was used looked really good. But Soke's design was just really unoriginal and kinda silly looking. He looks like Gollum. But ok now that my gripes are out of the way, the good, and there is a lot of good! Like I said, the film overall looked great. But the best part by far was the characters. I love all of the new characters! They were all written so well and just super likable! It's hard to pick favorite but I'd have to say Rey probably takes the cake. She was so awesome! I loved seeing the new characters interact with the old, especially Rey and Han. The last shot was absolutely amazing and I'm so looking forward to her and Luke training together and her possibly being his daughter. That's all for now but I have a ton more feelings about this movie and I can't wait to discuss it with all of you! I've already seen it twice but I'll probably go back to see it again. I really want to see it in IMAX. Oh, and same here, Shaak Ti! I noticed things the second time I had missed the first time! Also did anyone see how many Clone Wars actors were listed in the additional voices? I noticed Sam Witwer, Tom Kane, Matt Wood, and even Dave Filoni!

| Spoilers. So many spoilers. - Spoiler:
I cried for five hours straight after I watched it, no joke. Like I don't think people realized how much Han Solo means to me and he's kind of a huge symbol for my life between 2009-2012 because I was under a lot of emotional turmoil and he was my outlet. Watching him die literally felt like I was watching myself die and I legitimately was so angry and hurt and shocked and confused but now I'm kind of accepting of it. I'm not in middle school anymore, I'm grown up.
It still hurts a lot though.
Otherwise I really did like the new characters they introduced! I'm curious to see where it goes. - Spoiler:
Just not so thrilled about the fact my main interest is gone.

| Good to see you DT! - Spoiler:
I know what you mean. It's just so hard to believe that one of the most beloved film characters of all time is dead.
